Product Description
Fujifilm X-S1 Digital Bridge Camera
Superior Design
The Fujifilm XS-1 is a different king of Bridge Camera, from its elegant SLR-influenced design, to its Japanese built body with great attention to detail in ergonomics and construction – metal dials, large sensibly laid out buttons, rubberised coating and a glass fibre reinforced polycarbonate construction.
Superior Sensor
The XS1 has an extra-large 2/3” CMOS Sensor (Same as for the X10). This is much larger than for many other compact and bridge cameras, the advantage of this being better low light sensitivity and much reduced image noise. The sensor also has EXR technology to give you control over image recording characteristics. The three EXR modes are: High Resolution, Wide Dynamic Range (for rendering high contrast), and High Sensitivity & Low Noise. These modes can either be manually or automatically selected. There is also an Auto ISO option (100-3200 plus 12,800 in small JPEG size) for the optimum balance between image sharpness and low noise. Traditional Program/ Aperture Priority/ Shutter Priority/ Manual modes are included for extra control and there are lots of bracketing options, a film simulation mode and RAW file recording.
Superior Optics
The 26x zoom (24-624mm equivalent) lens uses Fujifilm’s expertise of Fujinon pro broadcast and superzoom lenses. 17 glass elements are used including four aspherical and two ED lenses for pin sharp focus and accurate colour. Smooth and accurate zoom is possible thanks to metal cams and silicone focusing rings with rubber grips. For an amazing extension to the zoom range, Intelligent Digital Zoom doubles the effective range to 24-1248mm (52x) with very little loss of image quality. The 1cm Super Macro mode gives you the opportunity to get in extra close and finally there are nine aperture blades for softer out-of-focus areas and so better “bokeh”.
Superior Viewing
As well as having a large 3.0” tiltable LCD monitor with Sunny Day Mode, 26° viewing angle and 460,000-dot resolution; the XS 1 also includes a 1.44 million-dot electronic viewfinder (EVF) which is a great tool for checking focus and is ideal for those used to SLR functionality.
