Extra Sensitive CMOS Image Sensor
The 1/4”, 5 total megapixel CMOS sensor is a Back Illuminated design (BSI) which means that much more light reaches the recording pixels than with conventional image sensors. The benefit of this is that you can continue to record full HD movies in lower light than would have otherwise been possible.

This camera can also record still images in 4.7 megapixel quality.
